Treatment Techniques Offered
On this page are the adjusting styles and therapies Craig Burgardt D.C. may use to treat patients.
Treatments are tailored to each patient's specific condition, allowing for personalized care and optimal outcomes.
Adjusting Techniques
Diversified Technique aka Manual "Hands On"
The diversified chiropractic technique is the most commonly used method in chiropractic. This hands-on approach involves high-velocity, low-amplitude (HVLA) thrusts applied manually by the chiropractor to specific joints, primarily in the spine and extremities, to restore proper movement, and function. The adjustment is delivered quickly and precisely, often resulting in a popping or cracking sound known as cavitation. It is effective for relieving pain and improving mobility in conditions such as back pain, neck pain, sciatica, headaches, whiplash, and sports injuries.
Drop Table
aka Thompson Drop
This technique is used to reduce the amount of force applied from the chiropractor, allowing for a gentler alternative to traditional manual (diversified or gonstead) adjustments. It is considered a low-force, high-velocity adjustment. The drop table is a segment of the chiropractic table that is lifted 1-2 inches and upon a gentle thrust from the chiropractor, the table drops, increasing the chiropractors hand speed while requiring less force into the joint to achieve the chiropractic adjustment.
Tool Assisted Adjusting
aka "Activator" tool
An adjusting tool in chiropractic treatment is a handheld device used to deliver a controlled,
low-force impulse to specific joints, primarily the spine, to restore proper motion and help reduce symptoms. This office uses the ArthroStim brand electronic adjusting tool and the CAT Brand non electric adjusting tool while other offices may use the Activator Brand adjusting tool, both offer similar results based on Dr. Craig Burgardt's experience. The CAT adjusting tool is a spring-loaded, hand-held device that delivers a rapid, low-force impulse to the spine or other body parts, aiming to move vertebrae with minimal chance of patient discomfort. These tools are used by chiropractors for their efficiency, safety, and ability to treat patients who may not tolerate traditional manual adjustments.

Therapies Offered
Musculoskeletal Therapy
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger point therapy is a well-established approach for managing musculoskeletal pain, particularly myofascial pain syndrome, by targeting specific hyperirritable spots in skeletal muscle that cause localized and referred pain. This technique is not always comfortable, but does often provide fast and effective relief to patients. Patient's often say "It's the pain that hurts so good". These trigger points can cause localized or referred pain, muscle stiffness, reduced range of motion. The therapy aims to release muscle tension, restore normal blood flow, and promote healing by applying direct pressure to these knots using hands, tools, or devices
Intersegmental Traction
aka Roller Table
Intersegmental traction is a non-invasive chiropractic therapy that induces passive motion into the spine to stretch spinal joints and improve mobility. It is performed using a specialized table equipped with rollers that move up and down the length of the spine while the patient lies face-up, gently mobilizing the spinal column and stretching muscles, ligaments, and tendons. This helps restore normal range of motion and reduce muscle spasms. The therapy is in most cases relaxing and painless, often described as a gentle massage that promotes spinal health, reduces stiffness, and supports healing from back injuries. Patient with severe spinal arthritis or sensitivity may not benefit from these tables.
Hyrdotherapy Table
aka Hydromassage Table
A hydrotherapy table, also known as a hydromassage table, is a therapeutic device that uses a combination of water, heat, and massage using jets. The patient will lay fully clothed and dry on the table, it features a water-filled mattress covered by a waterproof barrier that prevents contact with the water. They are designed to help relieve pain, reduce stress, improve flexibility and range of motion, and enhance overall well-being. they are considered low-risk and suitable for therapeutic use.

Massage Chair
The stand alone electric massage chair uses internal electronic motors, gears, and rollers to simulate the motions of a human massage therapist, providing a therapeutic experience for the patient. Resembling a recliner, it can be used to target various parts of the body, including the low back, mid back, neck, shoulders blades, and legs. The massage rollers move in patterns such as rolling, kneading, tapping, and gripping, this can mimic traditional massage helping to relax muscles prior to chiropractic treatment.
Stretching, Nutrition, and Exercise
Craig Burgardt D.C. will at the proper time offer advice in nutrition, daily stretching to be performed at home on the patients own time, as well as simple exercises to promote proper posture, along with more fluid range of motion, and decreasing inflammation through dietary changes

Stretching
Stretching has significant benefits for improving posture, enhancing flexibility, and reducing pain associated with poor alignment.
A consistent stretching routine, performed daily or several times a week can help prevent future pain and support long-term physical health

Exercise
Simple exercises like walking, swimming, and gentle strength training offer significant health benefits for people of all ages and fitness levels. These can improve cardiovascular health, strengthen bones and muscles, enhance balance and coordination, and support mental well-being.

Diet/Nutrition
Removing inflammatory foods from your diet can offer several health benefits by helping to reduce chronic inflammation which is linked to numerous long-term health issues. Patients often report feeling better, with reduced pain, improved energy levels, and enhanced mental well-being with an anti-inflammatory eating style.
